Wi-Fi SweetSpots App Recensioni

Utilissima

Funziona e a me è stata molto utile.

Cool

Cool

Molto utile

Lapplicazione risulta molto funzionante e sopratutto molto utile. La consiglio vivamente!

Non serve a nulla

Non fa vedere nessuna mappa spazio potenza e ol grafico cambia di 20mbs (circa un terzo del segnale) pur mantenendolo fermo. Mi sembra piuttosto uno speedtest in realtime. Inutile, rimosso subito.

Imprecisa

App molto utile consigliatissima.

Spara valori a caso

Inutile, inaffidabile, meno che un giocattolo.

Utile app.

Sembra assolvere la sua mansione, un po troppo tecnica per chi non è pratico di tecnologia wireless.

Essential

Simple app, but essential.

Works

Very simple and exactly what I was looking for.

Does as intended

I use this App for placing mesh WIFI setups at my house and others. I feel this is accurately portrays WIFI signal strength as I walk through houses and see dips in signal with radio absorbing or reflective materials near by.

The best and only WiFi signal app!!!

After trying so many other apps and probably getting malware on my phone, this is the only one that does exactly the only thing you need. To know exactly the Wi-Fi strength in your house. I can adjust my routers antenna perfectly. Now my son’s bed and bathroom have the worst signal. Get a job and stop leaving your crusty socks on the ground.

It doesn’t work

It simply doesn’t work. I can be right by the router and it shows no WiFi. I’m running an Eero 7 max with fiber on an iPhone 14 Pro.

No longer supported

App does not sork

Doesn’t work anymore

I used this app before to analyze my WiFi signal strength. It doesn’t seem to do anything anymore. It started but didn’t collect any signal strength and I was right next to the WiFi AP. What happened to this app ? It was a good app while it lasted

Doesn’t work on iPad any more (downgraded from 5 to 1 star)

This app was exceptionally helpful a few months ago when setting up my mesh network. But it completely stopped working on my iPad and have no idea why and appears to have NO SUPPORT in App Store or on their web site.

Doesn't Work

Deleted immediately. Does not work, just beeps.

Walk around: get Wi-Fi speed readings

This is exactly what I needed. I wanted to walk around my house with my phone to see how strong the Wi-Fi signal was in different locations. This app was perfect. And it’s free. It shows the exact data download speed as you walk around. So you can find the wi-Fi dead spots in your home.

Stopped working completely

Why is this even still in the App Store?

Privacy violations

There is absolutely no reason why this tool should be trying to read data from the clipboard when it starts. It is extremely suspicious that it does this and makes me wonder what they do with the data that they do collect.

Doesnt Register A Speed

Sitting next to router. Speed is displayed as 0.0

Works great

Always use it when looking for the strongest signal.

Why is the app trying to paste data from my clipboard?

Just noticed a prompt from my iPhone saying the app wanted to paste whatever was on my clipboard. My immediate thought is that this is an attempt to steal passwords or other sensitive data. Force closed the app and immediately uninstalled it. I can get the same info anyway from my Unifi APs.

Give up your email!

Now it wont work. Wont connect to their server. I don’t have account unless I give them my email! It used to be free!! Lame one star app!

Stopped working on 16.4.1

Reports 0mb, did everything possible to fix. Not asking for access to local network. Otherwise this app was wonderful.

Doesn’t work at all

Latest iOS build 4/19/23. App reports 0.0 Mbps on my network no matter what.

First good app I’ve found

I tried many apps and they were all either useless or had high cost opt-out payment plans. This is the first one that worked really well to measure wifi strength in different parts of the building and gave me the insights I needed.

Apple iphone 13 pro

App stopped working on my iphone. Side by side..it works just fine on ipad. Been looking for some time now .. No luck. Tried all usual tricks....delete reload etc etc

Screenshots are fake

This app does tell you the quality of the signal where you are located and allows you to record however it has no display of the actual signal whether it is 2.4 or 5 etc.. was attempting to use to see strength of both frequencies in various locations inside the structure but it only showed 5 even when forced device to connect to 2.4 So overall it is crap

Does nothing

Pfft! This does nothing. I press start and it perpetually tells me I have a connection with zero speed. Since I’m writing this, that plainly wrong.

Crashes immediately

Looked promising but it always crashes after a few beeps (iOS 15.7).

Helpful, but is it accurate?

The concept is great, but perhaps I am misinterpreting the data. At a given location in my home, how can the speed between my router and iPhone be so much less than my download speed using the Ookla Speedtest app at that same location? I mean, the Wi-Fi SweetSpots app indicates much less than half the throughput I am getting with the Speedtest app. How would it be possible to get more than twice the data through a pipeline that is less than half the size? Your app is helpful in finding sweetspots, yet the actual data does not seem to be at all accurate. But then again, perhaps I am missunderstanding the results.

Works Great

Works great. Very useful. And unique.

Reinstalled it and it works again

Great tool for assessing Wi-Fi speed!

Always 0

This app used to work. Now it’s just always a 0.0 reading. Such a waste.

DOES still work

Stopped working for me, and I saw some recent reviews saying the same. Issue seems to be new privacy/permission settings in iOS. The app won’t prompt you to let it access network devices, so manually give permission or delete and reinstall. 👍🏼

Put back the MAC address

This is a great app, but I can’t seem to get the MAC address to show up like it used to. Could you add an option to display it like it once did? Having that information helps me with diagnosing which wireless radio I’m connected to, especially if the router handles both 2.4 and 5ghz radios with the same SSID.

No longer works

April 16, 2022 no longer works

15.1?

I’ve used this app in the past and enjoyed it greatly. However on iOS 15.1 it does not seem to work. Is anyone else having the same problem? I noticed it was just updated a week ago which is well after 15 was released

Great app!

Gives basic speed information about current wi-fi connection.

Great for tuning Wi-Fi access point placement

I found the best place in my house for my access point with this. The top floor of my house in a central location was miles better than where I had it before. You can’t use tools like Speedtest because your constrained by the speed of your isp. I don’t know what clever magic they use (routing data from the phone back to itself?). This overcomes the silly limitation that Apple imposes by not allowing access to signal strength.

Paste from clipboard on startup and closing

Make sure that you copy to the clipboard an appropriate message before launching or closing the app, as it accesses the clipboard (possibly on your nearby iMac or MacBook if you use Continuity) on both startup and closing, obviously without any need.

Needs a UI Update

Works well but can’t read the results. Needs a UI update.

App performs functionally ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was impressed with this developers app. Normally someone will monetize to maximize app built. I am thankful for the time and effort put into this app. Works! Recommend for signal optimizations on new or existing networks.

Does what it says

Ya ya I’m one of those that never review apps but this is an exception. Live in a studio and work in a closet and am thinking it’s a small apartment - surely WiFi is good. Well this app confirms why my zoom calls stutter like crap. Speed outside 200mbps. Inside 30mbps. Does what it says. 5 stars.

It helped my diagnose internet issues

We’ve all had the experience of being disappointed by a product or service and consequently left a negative review. Therefore, I believe it important to leave a positive review when you find a product that exceeds your expectations. This app was critical to diagnosing Internet issues in my home. Rather than spend a lot of money buying new hardware and hoping Wi-Fi got better, I was able to measure the Wi-Fi performance and find this data led me to identify the real problem and therefore, the right solution which ended up not being my the Wi-Fi router but an obsolete cable modem that was losing connection with Xfinity. I thank the developers of this app and really appreciate how much is taught me about how Wi-Fi works at my own home. With this app I ruled out my Wi-Fi router as the issue and instead of investing hundreds in new wifi equipment I spent $60 on a new cable modem that is rated for my current Xfinity service.

Copies your clipboard data.

This app access your clipboard data with out a need for it. Apple should be banning apps that unnecessarily access your clipboard data. This is a big privacy issue. I deleted this app for this reason.

Great for finding WiFi deadZones

I tried a couple apps and this was exactly what I was looking for. Turn on the sound and you basically have WiFi “radar” that lets you figure out where your home’s deadZones are. Perfect for figuring out where you might need WiFi extender.

Don’t download this app LIES!

This app is spam, it shows that I’m getting 300mbps in the worst room in my house, but through charter I pay for 100mbps, Ookla shows 110mbps on a wired connection so I know that’s accurate!

Nice, one bug

Fit my need exactly. Intuitive. One bug: When comparing sets, the header labels are backwards. Each “cell” has the correct label. A nice feature might be a graph comparison of readings.

Good app

The result isn’t really signal strength, it is bit rate achieved. Thus it will depend on device used. Developers, please correct me if I am wrong. So, results with iPhone 7 at a given spot in your house may not match those of an iPad or of a laptop PC.

Great App

Anyone wanting to troubleshoot a wireless LAN or measure signal strength would be well served by this offering. Let’s you know right away if an extender is a good idea or if it’s time to reboot wireless devices.

Simple but effective

I was looking for a basic scanner that gave straightforward information. This app does just that. Scans areas and gives you speeds.

Works well but the info is vague

Assuming the app is correctly calculating the data transfer rate, this app is very helpful. But why not also show the Wi-Fi signal strength like RSSI and dBm? What about 2.4 or 5 Ghz and the current channel? This app seems to show the MAC address of the first Access Point it started with, even if the connection switches to another AP or the original AP is turned off, this app never refreshes the MAC.

Best I’ve used

Helped me obtain accurate tests for my Wifi signal

Completely stopped working. So bummed.

Completely stopped working. So bummed

No iPhone 12 pro support

Hasn’t worked since I got my new phone. Always shows 0.0mbps.

First Time User

Did exactly what it said. I was able to check for better placement for router and the two key locations. Where I live, the signal leaves a lot to be desired so this helped get the best out of what signal I do get.
